PROJECT: Global Apparel Business Benchmark & India Market Entry Strategy I built a public-source benchmark of Inditex (Zara), H&M Group and Fast Retailing (UNIQLO), translating the findings into a staged India entry recommendation for a hypothetical mid-size apparel brand. WHAT I ANALYSED • Company financial snapshots and key ratios, with explicit fiscal-year, currency and disclosure caveats. • Operating models: coordinated multi-brand retail, inventory/cost discipline and an essentials-led product proposition. • India's apparel retail opportunity, competitor entry structures and foreign-investment/local-sourcing considerations. • A three-year scenario model covering store count, sales per store, gross margin and operating profit. RECOMMENDATION Launch e-commerce plus two pilot experience stores in Bengaluru and Delhi NCR. Expand only after store contribution, repeat purchase, returns, markdowns and supplier reliability meet defined gates. All projections are hypothetical. TOOLS Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint, public annual reports, market research and source documentation. LIMITATIONS Fiscal years differ; some metrics are not directly comparable. Market estimates vary by scope. The scenario is not a forecast or legal advice.
